WHERE IS THE ACTUAL ENTRANCE?
If you’re coming via Wapping Lane and Pennington Street, the Meatopia entrance is the first arch on your left. You will see the signs.
IS MEATOPIA SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?
The site is very accessible as it has lifts to both levels, but it may be challenging for people who have limited mobility. For this reason we allow a carer to come free. For more information on Tobacco Dock’s facilities for the disabled please contact [email protected]

MEATOPIA ON THE DAY
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each day between 20 – 30 Chefs create a unique dish and cook it right in front of you, over fire. You eat as many as you like using Meatbucks to redeem dishes. You while away the afternoon: eating, drinking, dancing and sharing stories – generally soaking up the atmosphere.
HOW MUCH IS THE FOOD?
Each dish is 1 MeatBuck (£5.50). Dishes are ‘taster’ sized (like a starter) so you can try several.
WHERE CAN I GET MEATBUCKS?
You can buy them in advance with your tickets, but they will be readily available on-site from MeatBuck points or the roving MeatBucaneers.
WHAT ABOUT THE DRINKS?
Meatopia has a wide variety of drinks available from any of our bars and can be purchased with cash, cards and drink vouchers (through bundled tickets). Drinks will be reasonably priced.
WHAT DRINKS CAN I GET WITH MY DRINKS VOUCHERS?
The drinks vouchers that come bundled with some tickets are valid for most standard drinks, including pints, regular glasses of wine and single spirits with mixers. Premium drinks such as champagne and premium spirits may be extra.
HOW DO I PAY?
Meatopia is now a cashless festival, so please bring your bank cards and contactless payment devices and leave your change at home.
WILL FOOD BE SERVED ALL DAY?
The coals will be burning bright from gate opening time until it runs out… (same as before) so don’t come too late and miss the most popular dishes.
CAN I GET IN EARLY WITH MY EARLY BIRD TICKET?
Yes, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Early Bird ticket holders can get into Tobacco Dock half an hour early. The grills will not start serving until the official gate opening time but you can get a drink and use the time to plan your route and maybe meet some of the chefs before the show starts.
WILL THERE BE ANY VEGETARIAN DISHES?
Meatopia is probably not great for vegetarians or vegans, though everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the music, bars, demos and atmosphere.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?
For the health and safety of everyone on site, we have to limit the number of under 18s at the festival. You will need a children’s ticket for any children coming to the show.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
No, sorry. Dogs and fresh meat don’t mix very well so only guide dogs are allowed at Meatopia.
WILL IT BE AN AWESOME WEEKEND OF MEAT, DRINK, FIRE AND MUSIC?
